Sheryl Duwunn and Nicholas D. Kristof collaborated to bring attention to the challenges that are facing women today around the globe from mass rape, maternal mortality, sex-trafficking, prostitution, poverty and violence. Half The Sky aspires to educate women around the world as women who have been given an education have fewer children and (through much research) teach their children providing them with more stability for the world thus creating a better world for everyone. The book contains stories of women who have come from various backgrounds and gender-biased inequalities and have over come the odds against them through hope, courage, and education. I’ll add the half the sky link to the blog as well. It’s a definite read! More importantly it’s a jump start to help change the world! Watch Sheryl’s ted talk too!

Such a great image to represent so many things going on in your head! Kabir and I had a great conversation about this one and the artists perspective vs. viewer’s perspective. A melty cone can symbolize so many things, and it was cool to read what it represented for you, the artist.

This is AMAZING! If you were in it too, I would get it printed 8×10 and put it up in my house!!! (I may do that anyway.)
Terrific job right here. I truly enjoyed what you had to say. Keep going because you definitely bring a new voice to this subject. Not many people would say what youve said and still make it interesting. Well, at least Im interested. Cant wait to see additional of this from you.

The depth and definition of the focus is beautiful!
Thanks!! I have no idea where I was. Ha. But I was thinking, I want to take a bathroom, set it up in the woods, and reflect a billion trees in a few mirrors among a single person. People always are going into the bathroom for this archetype, I figure let’s take the bathroom with us next time.
